About the film

My poetic documentary about Dag Tore, Tor Anders who work forests the old way using horses to horses to transport the wood out is a tribute to my wonderful grandma who was a farmer and forestkeeper. She became a single mother with five children and a big farm when my grandfather died of rheumatic fever just after my dad was born. Grandma's horses were her greatest helpers in the heavy work needing attention on the fields and in keeping the forestry sustainable. 

I still remember how shocked I got, first time confronted with a forest that had just been slaughtered by a forestmachine. The mess the machines left behind, huge tractor tracks that made it almost impossible for wild animals and people to get through the huge areas the machine had cleared. The film is my tribute also to the sustainable forestry, taking out only the ripe wood, a never ending resource that also maintain the ecological balance.
